Our faith has gotten watered down over the decades and your Church should be accepted by the Vatican asap. It fills a void needed in this world. 1) Your...The answers to your questions are simple.

1) Your assumption that food banks have more expertise behind working with the homeless than I possess is in error. Most of my secular career was spent serving homeless populations at the professional level.

2) This experience has taught me much about how so-called non-profit organizations operate. Many serve homeless populations as a means to indoctrinate them into some theological mindset. Others are grossly mismanaged by indifferent and distant board members who wouldn’t be caught dead in the presence of an actual homeless individual. Some even utilize these locations as a means to push illegal drugs. Essentially, I’d like to assure that the money we receive in donations actually goes to the purpose we have set forth.

3) Related to the above, donations received by the Church should go to the ministerial activities of the Church, should they not? I’m not quite sure how your logic assures that giving the Church’s donations away to another organization to do the work we said we would be doing somehow makes this activity less “about me”. I'm not opposed to teaming up with reputable food banks if I can find some, but I'm not about to reduce the Church to the level of paying other missionaries to do our work for us.Bishop Bryan D. Many food banks are in dire need of cash and assistance.
